Why ODIN?
For any blockchain to succeed, it needs to obtain accurate, timely “off chain” information for use on-chain. Prices, weather, sport scores, any information that needs to be consumed and used for on-chain transactions. What is ODIN?
ODIN is a decentralized system designed to build a data oracle network (DON) based on an open protocol for interaction between participants and a sustainable economy. In addition to organizing the data oracle network, ODIN involves building a decentralized peer-to-peer data sharing and trading ecosystem. What is delegating?
If you hold Odin Protocol Tokens (ODIN), you can delegate those tokens to a validator. By delegating ODIN, you help secure the network. You get part of the rewards provided by the protocol for this assistance. Delegating will help you accumulate more ODIN while contributing to the health of the network.
Do I lose ownership of my tokens?
Absolutely not. You are not giving away ownership of ODIN by delegating. RHINO does not take ownership of your ODIN. We cannot move or transfer your ODIN.
What are the risks of delegating ODIN?
Odin penalizes any validator that misses too many blocks or double signs a block by slashing the staked amount on that validator. The RHINO team has our own capital on the line, so we are fully incentivized to do our best to prevent such events. However, delegators must be aware that this slashing risk will always exist.
Does RHINO self-stake Odin?
Absolutely. The RHINO team utilizes multiple wallets and currently stakes a substantial percentage of the ODIN on the RHINO Validator. We are heavily incentivized to deliver highly performant and secure validation services.
What does RHINO receive from this?
We charge a 5% commission of the block rewards received. For example, if a delegator (you) receives 100 ODIN as a reward, RHINO will receive 5 ODIN while you will receive 95 ODIN.
How can I undelegate my ODIN?
Undelegating (also called unbonding or unstaking) can be done anytime. However, it takes approximately 21 days for your ODIN to undelegate and become transferable. You will not earn rewards during this period. As another option, you can instantly transfer a delegated amount to another validator.
Can I transfer my ODIN to another validator?
Yes, instantly. If you’re unhappy with RHINO’s ability to perform validation services, you can instantly transfer your stake to another validator. There is no "unbonding" period to perform this action.
